Dr. Jeremy Wetzel is a dedicated hair restoration surgeon at Anderson Center for Hair. As a graduate of the American Academy of Hair Restoration Surgery (AAHRS) under the tutelage of Dr. Ken Anderson, Dr. Wetzel mastered both the linear strip (FUT) and follicular unit excision (FUE) methods of hair restoration. Today, Dr. Wetzel offers not only restoration surgery, but also non-surgical hair loss prevention and regenerative medicine procedures. 

Dr. Wetzel's journey into the field of hair restoration began after a comprehensive and accomplished background in neurological surgery and research. Dr. Wetzel obtained his medical education from the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas at Houston, where he excelled, scoring in the 99th percentile on his USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK exams and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He completed his neurological surgery residency at the Emory University School of Medicine, engaging in extensive research on nerve regeneration, gene therapy, and the development of various animal models for neurological conditions. This background laid a strong foundation for his meticulous approach to patient care and surgery.

During his residency, Dr. Wetzel was honored with the Resident Research Presentation Award from the Georgia Neurosurgical Society in 2017 and served as chief resident, managing the neurosurgical inpatient service at both Emory University Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital in his final year. His research has been prolific, contributing to significant advancements in neurological sciences with publications in respected journals and presentations at professional society meetings. Dr. Wetzel's unique blend of precision, research, and surgical skill enables him to bring a thoughtful and evidence-based approach to hair restoration, ensuring the best possible outcomes for his patients. 

Outside of work, Dr. Wetzel enjoys a variety of personal interests including reading, fitness, hiking, cooking, and motorcycle riding.
